The ‘Soft matter and glasses’ axis unites two teams working on experimental physics of disordered matter:
Before 2005, these two teams belonged to two different laboratories, the ‘Laboratoire des Verres’ (LdV, working on glasses), and ‘Groupe de dynamique des phases condensées’ (GDPC, with activities on carbon nanostructures and soft matter). In January 2005, the two labs merged to create the ‘Laboratoire des Colloïdes, Verres et Nanomatériaux’ (LCVN), with five different research teams. In 2010, the LCVN merged with two other laboratories to build the ‘Laboratoire Charles Coulomb’ (L2C),
and LCVN was transformed into a department called CVN. Over the years, the Soft Matter and the Physics of glasses teams started working together in some common projects, sharing some similar experimental approaches. Since summer 2014, finally, they were regrouped in the research axis ‘Soft matter and glasses’ in the framework of the reorganization of L2C.
