Although AI-enabled customer relationship management (CRM) systems have gained momentum in healthcare to enhance performance, there is a striking dearth of knowledge on how such capabilities are formed and affect service innovation. The study adopted a mixed-method approach to investigate the underlying phenomena. This research infused resource-based theory, dynamic capability theory, and theory of productivity paradox to investigate how healthcare in India acquires AI-enabled CRM capabilities and enhances service innovation. We identified the facets of AI-enabled CRM capabilities using a case study and developed a framework for AI-enabled CRM capability and service innovation. This study noticed that customer service flexibility (CSF) is a missing link in this relationship. The findings of the quantitative study employing PLS-SEM reveal the linear relationships between AI-enabled CRM capability, CSF, and service innovation. This study explains the formation of AI-enabled CRM capabilities to fill the research gap and direct innovative performance in healthcare, which is an immediate need to sustain in a volatile environment. This study provides theoretical implications to enhance the research stream and practical implications for decision-makers. \textcopyright 2022 Elsevier Ltd

Spinal cord injury (SCI) leads to persistent neurological deficits without available curative treatment. After SCI astrocytes within the lesion vicinity become reactive, these undergo major morphological, and molecular transformations. Previously, we reported that following SCI, over 10% of resident astrocytes surrounding the lesion spontaneously transdifferentiate towards a neuronal phenotype. Moreover, this conversion is associated with an increased expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (Fgfr4), a neural stem cell marker, in astrocytes. Here, we evaluate the therapeutic potential of gene therapy upon Fgfr4 over-expression in mature astrocytes following SCI in adult mice. We found that Fgfr4 over-expression in astrocytes immediately after SCI improves motor function recovery; however, it may display sexual dimorphism. Improved functional recovery is associated with a decrease in spinal cord lesion volume and reduced glial reactivity. Cell-specific transcriptomic profiling revealed concomitant downregulation of Notch signaling, and up-regulation of neurogenic pathways in converting astrocytes. Our findings suggest that gene therapy targeting Fgfr4 over-expression in astrocytes after injury is a feasible therapeutic approach to improve recovery following traumatism of the spinal cord. Moreover, we stress that a sex-dependent response to astrocytic modulation should be considered for the development of effective translational strategies in other neurological disorders.

Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) at room temperature and standard atmosphere pressure remains so far the backbone of THz photonics in numerous applications for civil and defense levels. Plasmonic microstructures and metasurfaces are particularly promising for improving THz spectroscopy techniques and developing biomedical and environmental sensors. Highly doped semiconductors are suitable for replacing the traditional plasmonic noble metals in the THz range. We present a perfect absorber structure based on semiconductor III-Sb epitaxial layers. The insulator layer is GaSb while the metal-like layers are Si doped InAsSb (∼ 5·10 19 cm -3 ). The doping is optically measured in the IR with polaritonic effects at the Brewster angle mode. Theoretically, the surface can be engineered in frequency selective absorption array areas of an extensive THz region from 1.0 to 6.0 THz. The technological process is based on a single resist layer used as hard mask in dry etching defined by electron beam lithography. A wide 1350 GHz cumulative bandwidth experimental absorption is measured in THz-TDS between 1.0 and 2.5 THz, only limited by the air-exposed reflectance configuration. These results pave the way to implement finely tuned selective surfaces based on semiconductors to enhance light-matter interaction in the THz region.

Background and objectives: Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies have dramatically improved the prognosis of patients with relapsed or refractory hematologic malignancies; however, cytokine release syndrome and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) occur in ∼100 and 50% of patients, respectively. This study aimed to determine whether EEG patterns may be considered as diagnostic tools for ICANS.Methods: Patients who received CAR T-cell therapy at Montpellier University Hospital between September 2020 and July 2021 were prospectively enrolled. Neurologic signs/symptoms and laboratory parameters were monitored daily for 14 days after CAR T-cell infusion. EEG and brain MRI were performed between day 6 and 8 after CAR T-cell infusion. EEG was performed again on the day of ICANS occurrence, if outside this time window. All collected data were compared between patients with and without ICANS.Results: Thirty-eight consecutive patients were enrolled (14 women; median age: 65 years, interquartile range: [55-74]). ICANS was observed in 17 of 38 patients (44%) after a median time of 6 days after CAR T-cell infusion (4-8). The median ICANS grade was 2 (1-3). Higher C-reactive protein peak (146 mg/L [86-256], p = 0.004) at day 4 (3-6), lower natremia (131 mmol/L [129-132], p = 0.005) at day 5 (3-6), and frontal intermittent rhythmic delta activity (FIRDA, p < 0.001) on EEG between days 6 and 8 after infusion were correlated with ICANS occurrence. FIRDA was only observed in patients with ICANS (N = 15/17, sensitivity of 88%) and disappeared after ICANS resolution, usually after steroid therapy. Except for hyponatremia, no other toxic/metabolic marker was associated with FIRDA (p = 0.002). The plasma concentration of copeptin, a surrogate marker of antidiuretic hormone secretion, assessed at day 7 after infusion, was significantly higher in patients with (N = 8) than without (N = 6) ICANS (p = 0.043).Discussion: FIRDA is a reliable diagnostic tool for ICANS, with a sensitivity of 88% and a negative predictive value of 100%. Moreover, as this EEG pattern disappeared concomitantly with ICANS resolution, FIRDA could be used to monitor neurotoxicity. Finally, our study suggests a pathogenic pathway that starts with increased C-reactive protein, followed by hyponatremia and eventually ICANS and FIRDA. More studies are required to confirm our results.Classification of evidence: This study provides Class III evidence that FIRDA on spot EEG accurately distinguishes patients with ICANS compared with those without after CAR T-cell therapy for hematologic malignancy.

Silica aerogels have many potential applications, including as host matrices for chemical species or nuclear waste storage. For these applications, the permeability is a key parameter and data show that the silica aerogels have poor permeability (~10-60 nm 2). In this chapter we review the method to measure the liquid and gas permeability in gels, aerogels and composite aerogels. Ideally, permeability does not depend on the type of pore fluid, therefore permeability measured using gas should be the same as that measured using water. We measured gas and water permeability in sets of nano composite silica aerogels. Experimental results show that gas permeability in aerogels was larger than water permeability by almost two orders of magnitude. The observed difference in gas and water permeability was analyzed from the point of view of the slip regime (Klinkenberg correction), and transition regime (Knudsen correction), the slip flow of gas at pore walls enhance the gas flow when pore sizes are small. This work addresses the problem of estimating permeability with high porosity materials such as aerogels. The effects of structural parameters of porous media (pore volume, tortuosity, fractal features) on the Klinkenberg and Knudsen corrections are discussed and the different models proposed in the literature are tested.

We address the question of the time needed by $N$ particles, initially located on the first sites of a finite 1D lattice of size $L$, to exit that lattice when they move according to a TASEP transport model. Using analytical calculations and numerical simulations, we show that when $N \ll L$, the mean exit time of the particles is asymptotically given by $T_N(L) \sim L+\beta_N \sqrt{L}$ for large lattices. Building upon exact results obtained for 2 particles, we devise an approximate continuous space and time description of the random motion of the particles that provides an analytical recursive relation for the coefficients $\beta_N$. The results are shown to be in very good agreement with numerical results. This approach sheds some light on the exit dynamics of $N$ particles in the regime where $N$ is finite while the lattice size $L\rightarrow \infty$. This complements previous asymptotic results obtained by Johansson in \cite{Johansson2000} in the limit where both $N$ and $L$ tend to infinity while keeping the particle density $N/L$ finite.
